Esther Jane Curtis, of Limestone, Arkansas passed away Thursday, Feb. 1,2007 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellvile, Arkansas at the age 0f 70. The daughter of James Napoleon and Sarah Elizabeth (Plumlee) Carter, was born January 6, 1937 in Willard, New Mexico. She and her mother moved to the area in 1953 and she had worked for Curtis Grocery in Deer for about 15 years. She also worked for the U.S. Forestry Service.
Her parents preceded her in death, along with her husband, Rutherford B. "Bud" Curtis in 1995; three brothers, Dorce "Doc" Carter, Chuck "Shorty" Carter, and Roy Carter; and one sister, Irene Birch.
Survivors are her two sons and daughters-in law, Ronald and Angela Curtis and Charlie and Barbara Curtis all of Deer; and five grandchildren, Kim, Jared, Catlin, Laken, and Brady Curtis.
Visitation was Sunday at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
Graveside Service was Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 at Ogden Cemetery in Limestone, Arkansas with Bro. Bobby Young officiating.
Pallbearers were Bob Braden, Hoyt Sams, Vernie Heydenreich, Brent Davis, Glen Sams and Jim Clayborn.
