Obituary

Estella Hibbs died Friday, January 5, 2007, in Jasper, Arkansas. Born October 12, 1928 in Mt. Rainier, Maryland, she was the beloved daughter of the late Karl and the late Cacilia Bachmeier. Estella was the soulmate to Gerald "Newt" Hibbs whom she married in 1951. Together they lived and traveled abroad and in the United States, making homes in Paris, France; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Corydon, Iowa; Clovis, New Mexico; Washington, D. C.; District Heights, Maryland and finally in Marble Falls, Arkansas. Estella worked for the U. S. Government and with Newt in their photography studios.
Newt preceded her in death in 1999. She was the beloved sister of Ida Weinelt and Dorothy Bachmeier, who also preceded her in death.
She is survived by sisters, Erna Bachmeier and Doris Riess; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Davison; numerous nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews as well as many friends and neighbors. Cherished by many, loved by all, she will live on in our thoughts, memories and prayers.
Services were held Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, Arkansas.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of your choosing or to the Newton County Senior Center, Jasper, Arkansas.
Interment will be with her husband in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, Maryland.
