Obituary

Ertis Casey, age 85 of Jasper, formerly of Wayton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006 at Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper. He was born January 9, 1921 at Parthenon, the son of Willie H. & Nancy (Snow) Casey. He was a farmer, a veteran of WWII and a lifetime resident of Newton County. He was converted and baptized in Nov. 1959 and was a member of the Wayton United Baptist Church.
Ertis was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother; one sister, Argie Vee Casey and three infant brothers.
Survivors are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chester Wayne and Glenda Casey of Wayton and Ertle Glen and Velma Casey of Jasper; five nieces; 1 nephew; 12 great nieces and nephews; 18 great great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Service is 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 24, 2006 at Wayton United Baptist Church with burial in the Snow Cemetery at Wayton under direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper. Visitation from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, August 23 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
Pallbearers are Ronny Casey, Brock Henderson, John Emerson, Johnny Harrison, Ray Bowman and L. C. Casey. Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Jimmy Justice and the staff of Newton County Nursing Home.
