Emma Dees Harding was born November 5, 1915 East of Bellefonte, Arkansas. She passed away January 29, 2010 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. The last of eleven children to die that was born to Jesse Lytle Dees and Nevada Evelyn Baughman Dees and the last granddaughter to die of William Andrew Dees and Margaret Mirian Choate Dees.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bert Harding; a son, James Paul Harding; granddaughter, Zanetta Evelyn Carlton; a brother, Elmer Paul Dees; nine sisters, Margaret Larimore, Martha Burton, Levona Mitchell, Eugene Morgan, Ellen Wallis, Myrtle Cash, Mittie Keeter, Jessie Smith, and Thelma West; and brothers-in-law, T. J. Harding and Warren Harding.
Emma is survived by a daughter, Janis Carlton and husband, Arland; two grandsons, Bill Carlton and wife, Nancy and Wesley Harding and wife, Amber; one granddaughter, Lynn Harding; two great-granddaughters, Zanetta and Cynthia Carlton; a step-grandson, Jacob; step-granddaughter, Alexia; and her extended family after marriage, Mary Harding, Ruth Thomason, Elmer and Marie Griever, and Barbara Harding.
Service was P.M.Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Elmer Griever officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery near Hwy. 62 East. Visitation was Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Bill,Zanetta, and Cynthia Carlton, Wesley Harding, Lynn Harding, and Richard Matlock. Honorary pallbearers were Buddy West, Garland Brasel and Connie Young.
