Emma Jewel Christian, of Niangua, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at home at the age of 87.

The daughter of the late Harvey and Betty (Kuykendall) Carter was born at Cave Creek, Arkansas on November 8, 1933.  On August 6, 1949, she married Arthur Wayman Christian in Piercetown, Arkansas.  They were married for 36 years and raised six children.

Emma Jewel loved to read and study her Bible daily.  She loved to plant flowers and work in the garden.  It brightened her day to see her family and watch her grandchildren grow.  She kept busy doing cross-stitch and coloring books.  She enjoyed collecting buttons, tea-cups and dolls.  She also loved her little Chippy dog, that she called Tippy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Christian; a son, James Barlow Christian; a brother and his wife, Tony and Dean Carter and a son-in-law, James Basil Guice.

Emma Jewel is survived by five children, Johnny Christian and wife Karen of AR, Beatrice Guice of MO, Kenneth Christian and wife Jenny of MO, Cecil Christian of AR and Virginia Loftin and husband Bobby of MO; four siblings, Big Boy Carter, James Carter, EmmaLee Martin and Donald Carter; 19 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended relatives.

Funeral will be at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Steve Hubble officiating.  Visitation will begin at 1 PM prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Yardelle, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Johnny Waymond Christian, Justin Barlow Loftin, Bobby Joe Loftin, John Wayne Guice, Kerry Gilmore and Mike Middleton.

Honorary pallbearers are "all her little grandsons".
