Obituary

Emily Alberta Cerra, age 89, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 3, 2012 at the Hospice House in Harrison.

The daughter of John and Emily (Angel) Ceney was born on September 24, 1923 in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.

She spent her life being a foster mother to many children and was awarded Foster Parent of the Year for the State of New Jersey.

She was preceded by her parents; her husband, John C. Cerra; four brothers, Frank Ceney, Herbert Ceney, George Ceney and Thomas Ceney; three sisters, Dara Ceney, Anna Viohl and Amy Sickles; and one great-granddaughter, Jordan Evans.

She is survived by three sons, John A. Cerra of Green Forest, Arkansas, George D. Cerra of Harrison, Arkansas and George L. Cerra of Morgantown, West Virginia; two daughters, Donna Cerra of Mill Creek, Arkansas and Jennifer Luker of Missouri; two brothers, Charles Ceney of Virginia and Robert Ceney of Pennsylvania; one sister, Florence Pollard of Pennsylvania; eleven grandchildren, Amy Smith, Ernest Bischoff, Jessica Cerra-Caplan, Stacey Evans, Christine Brown, Lee Cerra, Jacob Cerra, Nick Cerra, Tasha Joseph, Abigail Cerra and Catherine Cerra; seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Chaplain Marge Doyle officiating.
