Obituary

Elizabeth Kay Plumlee, age 53 of Nail, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at Marble, AR. She was born June 18, 1953 at Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Raster Earl and Opal Vesta (Strode) Gibson. Kay graduated at Deer High School in 1972 and was united in marriage to Troy L. Plumlee on July 20, 1971 at the Nail Church. She was a volunteer at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper for many years, having received several volunteer of the year awards. She also was a correspondent for the Newton County Times, writing the Nail news for many years. She was a member of the Nail United Baptist Church and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Buddy and J. T. Gibson and a very special nephew, Kent Curtis.

Survivors include her husband, Troy Plumlee of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Renita and Shane Helms of Pleasant Plains, Arkansas and Kayla and Len Waters of Jasper; two sisters, Jackie Feltrope of Harrison and Maxine Gohr of Rogersville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Shakeita, Hunter, and Chris along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Wayton United Baptist Church with Jim Kelley and Bobby Young officiating. Burial was in Mossville Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.

Pallbearers were Steve Adams, Steve Isley, Spankie Woods, Mike Gohr, Paul Oliver and Danny Oliver. Honorary Pallbearers were Jeff Pugh, Shakeita Miller, Hunter Helms, Chris Waters, Shane Helms, Len Waters, Dr. Tom Langston and her friends at the Newton County Nursing Home.
