Edward Paul "Blue John" Chevallier, age 84 of Harrison, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Harrison.
The son of Phillip and Lula (Paul) Chevallier was born March 17, 1929 in Jonesville, Louisiana.
"Blue John" was a resident of the area for 40 years, was a Mason and devout Democrat. He enjoyed camping, traveling, telling tall tales, and talking politics.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Carole Chevallier; his second wife, Racean (Williams) Chevallier; and two brothers, Bill and Louis Chevallier.
He is survived by his sons, Bo Chevallier and wife, Kay of Many, Louisiana and John Chevallier and wife, Jan of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas; daughters, Lynn Blevins and husband, Reggie of Western Grove, Arkansas and Beverly Chevallier and husband, Terry Matlock of Western Grove, Arkansas; one sister, Ernestine Parsons of Jena, Louisiana; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special friend Mava Fout of Berryville, Arkansas.
In lieu of a formal service, the family would like to invite Blue John's many friends to a gathering at his favorite place to sit and think, the side of the creek on the old home place on Beverly's farm. They will be building the fire at 6:00 PM on June 8th. Please bring your refreshments and your best Blue John story to share. If you need directions, please contact a family member.
