IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edie
Leonard
May 24, 1954 – August 28, 2025
Edie Leonard, 71, of Harrison, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House.
The daughter of Bernard Ray and Roselyn Marie (Granier) Hennen was born on May 24, 1954 in Montgomery, Maryland.
Edie moved to Harrison in 1989 from Manassas, Virginia. She spent several years in California working as a police officer and a correctional officer. She was the former director of the Ozark Rape Crisis Center. She also enjoyed volunteering at Camp Jack and the Lyric Theater.
She loved the Lord and was a longtime, faithful member at Woodland Church.
Edie loved working on puzzles, crocheting and crafting. She especially enjoyed spending time on Facebook, where she was quite popular locally, frequently commenting and supporting others by sharing their cause or their business pages.
Edie was a loving and devoted wife to Leroy. They spent 50 blessed years together and always left each other with a kiss and promise to return home, and they never went to bed angry with one another. She was a caring and exceptional mother to her children and loved her family tremendously. Edie was outgoing, friendly, and always smiling – with a hidden stubborn and ornery streak. She was loved by all who knew her, and her presence will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jessica Rose Hennen; her parents; a brother, Michael Carter; and her beloved dog, Jazzy.
Edie is survived by her husband, Leroy Leonard; one son, Brian Leonard and wife, Jamie; two daughters, Dixie Marshall and Mollie Swainhart; her sweet dog Buffy, who was always by her side; one brother, Johnny Hennen; eight grandchildren, Hope, John, Roselyn, D.J., Joanna, Lexi, Carley, and Megan; six great grandchildren; her best friends, Debbie Davenport and Marsha Doidge; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Woodland Church with Pastor Heath Kirkpatrick officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Shrum and the nurses and staff at Cornerstone Medical Clinic and everyone at Camp Jack.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Camp Jack, 411 S Pine Street, Harrison, AR 72601.
Arrangements under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison. Condolences may be left online at www.coffmanfh.com
