George Edward "Eddie" York, age 54 of Jasper, Arkansas and formerly of Independence, Missouri passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at his home. He was born September 2, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri, the sone of Billy and Eleanor Sue "Brasel" York. He had worked for Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and was a member of the NRA. He had moved to Newton County in 1997 from Independence, Missouri.
Survivors are his parents, Billy and Sue York of Jasper; one son, Bryan York of Blue Springs, Missouri; two daughters, Brandy Faulkner of Independence, Missouri and Holly Correa of Center View, Missouri; two step-daughters, Andrea and Amanda of Missouri, one brother, Richard York of Belton, Missouri; one sister, Lisa Ebert of Overland Park, Kansas; an uncle, Billy Dale Brasel of Jasper and eighteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were Friday, March 12, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Brother David Faught officiating. Burial was in Jasper Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Joseph Carter, Joey Brasel, Wendall Rigsbee, Jacob Ebert, Jeremy Blackmon, Andrew Stockman, Eddie Vanderpool and Randy Keef. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Brasel, Doug Hatch, Ronnie Chasteen, Alex Correa, Vance Faulkner and Gerald James.

The family and friends will gather at Carroll Electric after the service from 4:00 to 6:00p.m.
