Eddie Gene "Ed" Carter, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday February 13, 2022. He was 71.
He was born in Harrison, Arkansas on October 25, 1950, to parents Isaac "Tom" Carter and Katherine (Hensley) Carter McInturff. Ed was raised in Boone County and graduated from Valley Springs High School in 1969. He moved to Rogers, Arkansas 35 years ago and had retired as a Fleet Manager at JB Hunt in 2015.
Ed was an avid fly fisherman and loved spending time on the White River. He also enjoyed shooting the muzzleloader competitively and won the Arkansas State Championship one year and placed in all the years he participated. He especially enjoyed driving around in his "hooptie". He looked forward to attending the yearly alumni reunions at Valley Springs and visiting with all of his old friends. Ed loved his kids and grandkids dearly. He had a big personality and voice that could fill a room. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Linda Carter and Kathy and Leroy McInturff.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Debbie Carter; his children and their spouses, Daniel and Christy Carter and Beth and Shane Andreasen; four grandchildren, Valerie and Luke Andreasen and Blake and Ellie Carter; his sister, Diana Rose and husband Robert and his niece, Kristin and a host of extended relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 11 AM, Friday, February 18, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Bro. Lannie Younger officiating.
Burial will follow at 3 PM Friday, at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens, 5930 S. Wallis Rd., Rogers, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 PM – 7 PM at Coffman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Paul Allen Smith, Jim Methvin, Matt Love and Mike Duck. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Love and Doug Davis.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Rd., Springdale, AR 72762.
