Obituary

Nathan "Ed" Moore, 70 of Everton, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on November 18, 2015 at his home. The son of Edward and Dorsey (Hale) Moore was born February 15, 1945 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

As a young boy, he and his friend Olen spent many days squirrel hunting in the backwoods of Missouri. He lived in Missouri for several years; being saved in Bible School in Fairfield at a young age, and graduating from Warsaw High School.

He loved new challenges and the next adventure, he called it living on the edge, from being in the U.S. Navy for 3 ½ years to being a sheriff's deputy for Los Angles County Sheriff's department for 8 years. In 1975, he decided to move back to the Ozarks to raise the girls in the country, where he enjoyed fishing with them. He built a dairy farm that was in the top 10% of the state in production. Later, he would travel coast to coast as a sales representative for cattle feed companies, and then sold Semi-trucks until his retirement.

In his later years, he enjoyed hunting deer in the Eros community with several friends, having beagle dogs for many years. He had changed his life and focused on living for the Lord and was a baptized member of the Everton Baptist Church, where he enjoyed attending. Hunting antiques was always a favorite pastime, as well as watching the trees take on fall colors and the dogwoods bloom in spring. His favorite food was ribs and he was always in search of the perfect rib. When his health would no longer permit many of the things he enjoyed, he still traded guns and kept up with the news and watched old westerns.

He loved his daughters, granddaughters, and great grandson and felt a huge responsibility as a father to make sure they were taken care of. He would fondly remember anyone he met and appreciated the value of friendship, having several close lifelong friends. He had the heart of a charitable giver and would always reach out to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Eddie, as he was known by his family, is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 48 years, Jane Moore of the home, 3 daughters, Carrie and husband Gary Osborne of Harrison, Wendy Moore of Harrison, and Victoria and husband Kevin O'Brien of Pyatt; his brother, Frank and wife Aleta Moore of Everton; his sister, Darlene and husband Olen Butler of Corder, MO; 3 granddaughters, Amanda Copeland, Courtney O'Brien and Emilee Ade; 1 great grandson, Brendan Young and several nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.

Services will be Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2pm at Coffman Chapel, with Bro's Dwight Crowley and Chuck Browder officiating. Burial will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
