Earman R. Sain, age 78 of Harrison, formerly of Cowell, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 25, 2007. The son of Joseph Houston and Millie Augusta (Reddell) Sain, was born December 24, 1928 at Mt. Judea, AR.
He was born and raised in Newton County. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and finished his time of service while living in Colorado Springs, Colorado for 3 mos. After living there, he and his wife moved to E. St. Louis, Illinois and lived there for 17 years, where he worked for Wabash Railway. In 1967, he returned to Arkansas, and began his career as a carpenter, when he and his wife built 3 homes together. Before retiring, he built many houses in and surrounding Newton County. He was baptized in the Free Will Baptist Church at Ben Hur and was currently a member of Elmwood Baptist Church. Over the years, he donated labor to remodel the Cowell Missionary Alliance Church.
Earman was a hard working, honorable man, who lovingly provided for his wife and children.
Visitation was Tuesday at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, with the service on Wednesday, March 28, 2007,at the funeral home. Burial was in Cowell Cemetery. Glendon Garrison officiated and Jim Bryant assisted.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Sain, Dennis Sain, Ronnie Faught, Rick Adams, Jeff Adams and Brian Force; Honorary pallbearers were all other nephews and grandsons.
His parents and 3 brothers preceded him in death.
Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Lorene Sain of the home; one son, Keith Edward Sain; two daughters, Debbie S. Mapes and Lisa M. Scheuter all of Harrison, and a daughter, Valerie Y. Wheeler of Ozone; one brother, Frank Sain of Cabool, MO and one sister, Niva Faught of Deer, six grandchildren, Elizabeth D. Alcantara, David Wheeler, Rebecca L. Force, Cheryl Scheuter, Nikki L. Scheuter and Eric T. Sain, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
