Obituary
Earl Clifton Thornton, age 95 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Monday, June 15, 2009 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.
The son of Daniel and Louisa (Roberts) Thornton, was born April 18, 1914 at Zinc, Arkansas.
Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Modean Thornton, seven sisters; one brother; two grandchildren one great-great-grandchild;son-in-law, Frank Lee; and his daughter-in-law Janie Thornton.
Earl enjoyed preaching and spending time with his family.
Earl Clifton Thornton is survived by his sons, Don Thornton and his wife Rhebeeda of Caney, Kansas, Richard Thornton and wife, Nancy of Alma, AR, Ross and Thomas Thornton both of Harrison; one daughter, Linda Lee of Harrison; 22 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was Thursday, with services Friday at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery with Rev. John Kendick officiating.
Pallbearers were Billy, Brantley, and Scott Thornton, Doug, Michael, and Frank Lee, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Drs. Tom and John Leslie, Dr. Scott Ferguson, and Brad Thornton.
Memorials may be made to Hospice House, 501 E. Sherman, Harrison, Arkansas 72601 or to any charity of your choice.
