James Doyle Carney, age 92 of Nail, AR, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, AR.
The son of John and Mellie (Watson) Carney was born June 14, 1930, in Murray, AR.
Doyle was a member of the Nail Christian Union Church. He was very active in the church and attended every Sunday. He enjoyed hunting, and fishing, and was a master gardener. He also enjoyed watching baseball and watching his granddaughters play basketball at Deer.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Fern Carney; his sons, Larry Carney, Gary Carney, and James Carney; his brother, Virl Carney; his sisters, Floy Willis, Ruth Smith, and Juanita Harderson; his great-grandchildren, Haley Carney, Clayton Carney, and Ashlyn Woods; and his great-great-grandchild, Kingsley Alexander
Doyle is survived by his wife of 42 years, Laura Carney; his son, Terry Carney and wife Becky of Nail; his daughters, Donna Carney of Harrison, AR, and Racheal Rackley and husband Jack of Russellville, AR; his brothers Mirl Carney and wife Mary of Kansas City, KS, Delbert Carney of Russellville, AR., and Limon Carney and wife Carolyn of Farmington, AR; his sister, Nola Mae Williams and husband Jerry of Nail; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; and a special friend, Loren Collins.
The funeral service will be 12:00 PM, Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, AR, with Pastors Loren Collins and Bobby Young officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Nail, AR.
Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the service on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Chase Smith, Dylan Smith, Jack Rackley, Billy Williams, Jamie Carney, Michael Carney, and Andy Bolin.
Honorary pallbearers are Doyle's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and Dennis Bruhn.
