Dorse W. Milam, age 80 of Harrison, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. The son of James W. and Elva (Gilliam) Milam, was born May 19, 1926 at Witts Springs, AR. He was a lifetime resident of Searcy and Boone Counties. He was a truck driver and a member of the Capps Full Gospel Church. Dorse loved blue grass music and was well known for playing music on different stringed instruments. He enjoyed playing with a group at his church. His parents; two brothers, Noel and Dewey Milam and a sister, Miranda all preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Sullins) Milam of the home, whom he married April 12, 1944 at Marshall, AR. Also surviving are his two sons, Lyndell Milam and wife, Jolynn of Harrison and Deryl Milam and wife, Karen of Springfield, MO; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Friday, Sept. 1st from 6-8 PM with service Sat. Sept. 2nd at 10:00 AM at Coffman
Funeral Home in Harrison. Bro. Eddie Reed officiated and burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lyndell Milam, Deryl Milam, Tim Flippo, Brandon Keys, Casey Milam and Lance Milam.
