Dorothy Ann "Nanny" Kimes, age 83 of Lead Hill, Arkansas passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison, Arkansas.
The daughter of Nicholas J. and Anna (Mahosky) Dieter was born July 11, 1927 in Wheaton, Illinois.
Dorothy was a member of Mary Mother of God Catholic Church, an honorary board member of the Diamond City Chamber of Commerce where she was the secretary for 25 years, and she enjoyed playing bridge.
She was very instrumental in beginning the hospice program in this area and was known as "Nanny" to many.
Her parents preceded her in death, along with her husband, Kenneth W. Kimes; a son, Kenneth Lawrence Kimes; a brother, Father Gregory Dieter; and a brother-in-law, Warren Stark.
Survivors are her daughters, Kathryn C. Blunt of Ozark, Missouri, Kristine A. Stapleton and husband, Jerry of Tucker Hollow, Arkansas, and Karen R. King and husband, Bob of Lead Hill, Arkansas; brother, Donald Dieter and wife, Sally of Batavia, Arkansas; sister, Elaine Stark of Bloomingdale, Illinois; grandchildren, Kenny Clifford and wife, Keisha, Jenna Clifford, Shannon Dees, B.J. King and wife, Laura, and David King and wife, Crystal; and great-grandchildren, Elaine Dees, Natalie Dees, Aalyiah Clifford, and Alex Clifford.
She is also survived by a very special friend, David Matthews of Torrence, California.
There will be a Rosary service 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 with Mass following at 4 P.M. at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church with Father Gregory Hart officiating.
