Dorothy LaFaye Fowler, age 77 of Mt. Sherman, Arkansas, passed away Monday morning, August 31, 2009 at her home.
The daughter of Boyd and Olive Juanita (Smith) Matlock, she was born June 3, 1932 at Parthenon, Arkansas.
She was of the Baptist faith, a homemaker, and was a lifetime resident of Newton County.
She had been Weldon's sweetheart for 62 years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.
Survivors are her husband, Weldon Fowler of Mt. Sherman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Shannon Willis of Jasper and Karen and Jack Lowe of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; two brothers, L. C. Matlock of Jasper and Billy Paul Matlock of Swain; two sisters, Wanda Poyner of Alexander, Arkansas and Bobbie Carlton of Low Gap; three grandchildren, Shana Raver and husband, Bryan, Kaleb Moon and wife, Leslie and Jeremy Lowe; four great grandchildren, Bryce and Brody Raver and Edden and Lauryn Moon; along with many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral service was Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Bro. Donnie Villines and Bro. Bobby Young officiating. Burial followed in Union Hill Cemetery at Mt. Sherman Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper handled arrangements. Visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were nephews: Derek Poyner, David Poyner, Brock Matlock, Ronnie Samuels, Joe Paul James and Gary Matlock.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Kevin Jackson, Dr. Thomas Leslie, Legacy Hospice, Sam Alexander Pharmacy; special niece, Teresa Journagan along with all other nieces and nephews.
