Obituary

Dorothy Ann Buss, age 89 of Jasepr, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Highland Health Care Center in Bella Vista, AR. She was born August 12, 1918 in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of James Rolla and Ethel Elizza (Sanders) Cain.

She was a composer, arranger, song writer and author. She played the violin, professionally, with the Chicago Women's Symphony and was head of the Violin Department at Olivet Nazarene College. Dorothy also taught piano and violin, loved to travel and minister with her violin in many nations. She was a member of the End-Time Handmaidens, being the first to join the organization and served on their board for many years as director of music.

She and her husband moved to Newton County in 1975 from Chicago, Illinois.

Her husband, Estel Buss preceded her in death along with her parents; two brothers, James Cain and Lloyd Cain; and one sister, Willa Walter.

Survivors are her three sons, Scott Buss of Bella Vista, AR, Gary Buss of Garfield, AR and Philip Buss of Jasper; one sister, Nancy Pacelli of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Visitation was Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Ozark Glory Tabernacle, south of Jasper with the service following. Burial was in El Shaddai Garden.

Pastor Tim Phillips of Grace Christian Center in Harrison officiated. Pallbearers were Scott Buss, Gary Buss, Philip Buss, Joel Buss, Jason Connolley, and Timm Saller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Institute of Music, Worship and the Arts, Dorthy A. Buss Memorial Scholarship Fund, 2262 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, AR 72715.
