Donald E. Stith, age 74 of Harrison, Arkansas went to be with our Lord Monday, September 24, 2012 while at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison.
The son of Orgil and Florence (Brainard) Stith was born December 26, 1937 in Butler, MO.
Don attended Rosedale High School in Kansas City, KS. After high school, Don proudly served in the United States Air Force.
He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in Olathe, KS as an air traffic controller and instructor. While working at the FAA, Don earned a degree in psychology from Mid America Nazarene College in Olathe and was also ordained as a Southern Baptist Minister.
Don married Minnie Louise Springer, formerly of Converse, LA, on October 1, 1960. He and Louise would have been married 52 years this coming Monday, October 1, 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; two daughters, Mary Grieb and husband Jeff of Olathe, KS and Donna Boehm of Harrison; his brother, Dennis Stith and family of Macon, MO; six grandchildren, Stephanie Harwood and husband Jason of Seattle, WA, Rebekah Grieb of Olathe, KS, Melissa Trumpp and husband Marcus of Omaha, NE, Tyler Boehm of Harrison, Morgan and Jason Boehm of Fayetteville, AR; two great-grandsons, Brayden Boehm of Harrison and Rivers Harwood of Seattle, WA; and many wonderful, loving family members residing in the deep south.
Don was a kind, loving, patient man who was extremely proud of his family. He was a quiet man, but when he spoke everyone knew he had something important to say and they listened intently. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports, perform on stage and especially having them all together for holidays and special events.
Don always had a kind word for everyone and he will be missed more than he will ever know.
Visitation was Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Graveside service was Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Forest Park East Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana.
