Dale "Donald" Lively, age 96, of Bass, Arkansas passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Hospice of the Hills in Harrison, Arkansas.

The son of Lee Lively and Maudie (Dodson) Lively, he was Born September 26, 1928, in Bass. Although he spent most of his life in Bass, he served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. He was a hard worker employed in the logging business, the Newton County Road maintenance department, and eventually spent 27 years with the Arkansas Highway Department in Jasper where he last served as County Foreman.  He retired 37 years ago. These retirement years allowed him to thoroughly enjoy farming and his favorite sport of hunting. He was able to hunt most of his life, but deer hunting with his fellow hunter friends was always his most enjoyable activity.

Donald was an avid sports fan with his favorite teams being the Arkansas Razorbacks, St. Louis Cardinals and Duke Blue Devil basketball.

Donald loved his family, especially his grandkids and getting to meet his great grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his daughter, Debbie Ply.

Donald is survived by his children, Donna Jameson and Ken of Little Rock, Dorvin Lively and Leigh Ellen of Westlake, Texas, Dena Roberts and Billy Joe of Harrison, his grandchildren, Christopher Robertson, Jr, Jarrod Lively, Megan Sheumaker, Jessica Lively, Erin Edgmon, Lindsey Arrington, and Emily Hefley.  He had eight great grandchildren and many dear friends who loved him and will miss him.

He is also survived by his wife, Jerry Lively and her children, Randal Phillips and Debbie, Steven Phillips, Angela Vander Sys and Alan, David Westenhover, Brenda Flower and Michael and preceded in death by Donald Phillips.

A visitation service will be held on April 11th from 5 to 7PM at the Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas. The funeral service will be held at the Bass Church of Christ at Bass, Arkansas at 2PM on Saturday, April 12, 2025, and he will be laid to rest at the McCutcheon Cemetery, under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home. Dale Tennison will officiate.
