Donald Gene "Don" Waters, 73 of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at home.
The son of Ernest and Wilma (Eddings) Waters, was born at Hasty, Arkansas on February 27, 1947. He was a lifelong resident of Newton and Boone Counties and had retired from Boone County Road Department.
Don enjoyed fishing and telling stories. He had a vivid recollection of his childhood memories and loved ones. His family loved to hear him retell of their past and how he kept the memories of loved ones alive. Most of his stories also included a life lesson, or a teaching moment about gardening, mechanics, and many of his other talents. He was a planner, always prepared for life events. Don cherished his family, and they loved him beyond measure. He was larger than life and full of love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, R.L. Waters and his son, Scott Waters.
Don is survived by 2 brothers, Pat Waters and Bill Waters; five sisters, Linda Waters, Ernestine Myers, Debbie Scott, Patricia Edwards and Janie Rudd; daughter, Tamerah Young; daughter-in-law, Mary Waters; eight grandchildren, Kayla, Stephanie, Steven, Megan, Cameran, Casey, Kimberly and Carter; twelve great grandchildren, Robert, Drucilla, Luke, Arabella, Max, Riverlynn, Hazelmae, Carl, Ethan, Mia, Ayden and Genah; the mother of his children, Bobbie Waters and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends who will mourn his passing.
Graveside services will be at 2 PM, Thursday, June 25 at Eoff Cemetery with Melinda Smith officiating.
Open visitation will be at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison on Wednesday from 8am-5pm.
Pallbearers are Steven Choate, Jody Waters, Jeff Waters, Ricky Hembree, Billy Eastep and Pat Waters.
In compliance with the Arkansas Department of Health for COVID-19 and State Phase 2 Directives for funerals and visitations at the funeral home/church are limited to a 2/3 capacity of the facility. All attendees over age 10 are required to furnish and wear a mask. *Graveside service size is not restricted, please practice appropriate social distancing.
