Donald Burton Ellingson, age 77, a long time resident of Hillcrest Home, formerly of Omaha passed away after a lenghty illness on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.
The son of Adolph and Margaret Ellingson was born May 3, 1932 at Chicago, IL.
Don held four degrees, including a doctorate in Music and Piano performance. He had served in the United States Navy, and taught at Evangel University and the University of Missouri at Kansas City before moving to Omaha, Arkansas in 1976 with his family. Don also owned and operated Musictype, a hymnal typesetting business, for 22 years.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jennie, and a grandson, Justin Walters.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Ellingson of Lakeland, FL; children Barb and Jeff Sinclair of Omaha, Dee and Ron Stephens of Granger, IN, Dan and Beth Ellingson of New Gloucester, ME, Judy and Eric Walters of Auburn, AL, and Betsy Ellingson of Charleston, SC; and 11 grandchildren.
Cremation and arrangements are under direction of Coffman Funeral Home with interment at New Hope Cemetery.
