Obituary

Donald P. Darms, age 90 of Harrison, AR, passed away Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison.

The son of Charlie Darms and Anna (Smith) Sandahl, was born June 14, 1917 in Parshall, North Dakota.

Donald served in the Merchant Marines during WWII, and later was chief engineer for several oil companies. He was a member of Bergman United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Arkansas Road Runners, the NCT Camping Club, Bellefonte F&AM Masonic Lodge and the Bason Spring Lodge in Eureka Springs, the Eastern Star, and York Rite bodies.

While living in Diamond City, he enjoyed fishing and camping.

His parents preceded him in death, along with a step-son, Bob Yarbrough and a brother, Elwood Darms.

Survivors are his wife, Mildred "Tootie" Darms, of Harrison; step-daughter, Beverly Stibbens, of Texas; two step-granddaughters; three step great grandchildren; and a cousin, Olive Andes, of North Dakota.

Memorial service was Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Bergman United Methodist Church with Rev. Leslie Bailey and Rev. David Smith officiating.

Masonic graveside service followed the memorial service at Maplewood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Hills, P.O. Box 1927, Harrison, AR 72601.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
