IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dirk
Leese
October 16, 1970 – March 22, 2022
Dirk Leese, age 51 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The son of George and Umeko "Ume" Leese was born on October 16, 1970 in Phoenix, Arizona and moved to Harrison 25 years ago.
Dirk was an avid Harley-Davidson rider and enthusiast, stemming from his childhood years of riding motocross in the deserts of AZ. He often remarked that his fondest childhood memories were the weekend family outings to the desert to ride with his sister and Dad, with Mom tending the campfire with snacks at the ready. He enjoyed time with family and friends and was always the person to be the first to lend a helping hand. Even if it was his last shirt, Dirk would give someone the shirt off his back!
Next to enjoying the open road on his Softail, Dirk loved his dog whom he rescued from the Humane Society. Aptly named Harley, they were inseparable. Dirk loved a good time but was also a champion for those he felt were being mistreated, neglected, or bullied. If Dirk counted you as a friend, he would be there for you no matter what. Few people will encounter men like Dirk, and those that knew him will miss his infectious giggle and "wise" comments; he was a man of few words but when he had a statement to make, he wasn't afraid to make it.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Leese and mother, Ume Leese.
Dirk is survived by his son, David Burke; his sister, Diane (Leese) Wilhelm and brother-in-law, Patrick Wilhelm; his granddaughter, Madison; nieces, Morguen and Keslea Wilhelm; his uncle, Chris Leese, aunts, Tina Leese and Hasue (Terri) Miller and cousins, Lori Peters, Jo Ann Miller, Katelyn Leese Federico and Kirsten Cameron.
Graveside memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at White Church Cemetery. There will be a procession from the funeral home to the cemetery at 1030AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Dirk's name be made to the Ozark Humane Society, PO Box 542, Harrison, AR, 72602 or on-line at https://ozarkhumanesociety.org .
Arrangements under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison. On-line condolences can be left at www.coffmanfh.com .
