Dick Dewayne Lansden, age 70 of Deer, Arkansas passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 in Harrison, Arkansas.
The son of Arthur and Naomi (Henderson) Lansden was born on July 9, 1947 in Wayton, Arkansas. He was raised by his mother and a step-father, Beacher Vaughn. They moved to California and in 1965 he earned his barber license. He started his barber career in Farmersville, CA. In 1969 he moved to Porterville, CA where he owned his own barber shop. His barber career spanned over 52 years.
Dick was a hard working man. He was a unique, loving man who did things his way. He loved the mountains of Newton County, but lived most of his life in California. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of Bassmasters.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Valerie Duncan-Irby of Porterville, CA; a son, Dick Lansden, Jr. of Visalia, CA; a sister, Florence Lansden of Deer, AR; an adoptive sister, Debbie Colvin of Deer, AR; 3 grandchildren, Marlee Duncan, Michael Duncan and Myles Lansden; many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
