Diane Cone, age 71, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.

The daughter of Edgar and Pauline (Crow) Rudd was born June 21, 1952 in Harrison.  She was a lifelong resident of Boone County, including the years they spent on their farm in Denver, Arkansas from 1973-1989, and they returned to Harrison to live in 1989.

Diane worked at NARMC for 20 years, where she started as a teenager working as a candy-striper, and after holding many positions, retired as a purchasing clerk.  She was also well known for babysitting many children over the years.

Diane adored her family.  She loved spending time with them, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She looked forward to family vacations to Florida and being on the beach. She enjoyed shopping, playing cards, fishing and cooking.  Even with her vision struggles, she tried her best to do all she could. Diane embraced the role of caregiver for her elderly father and her family. Always gentle and loving, she was there to help if you needed anything.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Rudd, whom she dearly missed, a nephew, William Rudd, Jr., and several brothers and sisters in law.

Diane is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ishmal Cone; son, Michael Cone and wife Rachel; daughter, Deadra Bright and husband, David Bright, Jr.; her father, Ed Rudd; and her brother, William Rudd and wife Sondra and their daughter, Ashley Rudd; She was Nana to 7 grandchildren, David Bright III (Lauren), Shane Bright (Isabel), Elizabeth Presley (Joe), Chloe Bright, Addyson Cone, Autumn Cone, and Sage Cone; 5 great grandchildren, Donna Presley, Finn Bright, Weston Cone, Zayden Cone, and Logan Presley arriving soon.  She is also survived by a large extended family, including her brothers and sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Carl Edwards, Wayne and Yvonne Cone, J.C. Cone, Evelyn and Jim Mysinger, Brenda and Eddie Wahl, and Donald and Candy Cone, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Friday, August 11, 2023 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with her grandson, David Bright, III officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Tim Cone, Gary Cone, Jim Cone, Todd Garnette, Ronald Cone, Ethan Wahl, and Brandon Milam.
