DeVonda J. Martin, age 33 of Vendor, passed away Sunday, May 30th at NARMC in Harrison. The daughter of Devoe Wilson and Dorothy (Berringer) Wilson, she was born Sept. 29, 1976 at Harrison, Arkansas.
DeVonda had lived in Searcy and Newton Counties all her life and was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a homemaker. She enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting bird houses, cross stitching, animals, fishing, and attending church. Above all, she enjoyed taking care of her children and her heart went out to the children that were in need by giving and helping them.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmer and Hattie Wilson and Alfred C. and Verna Mae Berringer.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Martin of the home; two loving children, Treyton Martin and Taylor Martin both of the home; her father, Devoe Wilson of Harrison; her mother, Dorothy Berringer of Pindall; two brothers, Douglas Wilson and his wife, Melissa of Yellville and Dennis Wilson and his wife, Gloria of Harmon; a sister, DeWanda Wilson of Western Grove; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ronnie and Faye Martin of Vendor;
Sister-in-law, Jessica Martin of Western Grove; brother-in-law and his wife, Steven and Jennifer Martin of Vendor; Aunt Cindy Grinder and Aunt Myrtle Grinder of St. Joe; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Tuesday, with the service Wednesday, both were held at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery at Vendor with Jim Gaskill officiating.
Pallbearers were Eric, Clayton, Brady, and Colby Wilson, Jason Cook and Phillip Greenhaw. Honorary pallbearers were the ladies of Newton Co. Cancer Society; Geneva Smith; Western Grove High School Class of 1994; and members of Mt. Judea Church of Christ.
Memorials may be made in her memory to Mt. Judea Church of Christ or Newton County Cancer Society.
