David Christopher Streichert, of Jasper, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Countryside Nursing and Rehab Center of Newton County.  He was 66 years old.

The son of Robert and Patricia (Donnelly) Streichert was born on December 13, 1959 in Dearborn, Michigan.

David was a man with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He found comfort and belonging in the home he made at the Newton County Nursing Home, where he formed meaningful bonds with both the residents and staff. David genuinely cared for those around him and brought warmth and kindness into their lives. A man of strong Christian faith, David found great peace and joy in reading his Bible, which was a constant source of strength and comfort to him throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia Streichert; one brother, Patrick Streichert; two sisters, Susan (Bob) Docherty and Martha Streichert; three nephews, Rob (Jennifer), Justin, and Joshua; two nieces, Jessica (Jay) and Haylie; four great nephews, Jimmy, Mikey, Max, and Finn; and many dear cousins, other family and friends.

At David's request no service will be held.
