David Wayne Powe, age 67, of Western Grove, Arkansas, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 20, 2025.
The son of Louis and Gussie (Rester) Powe was born October 29, 1957 in Bogalusa, Louisiana. He was a Veteran of the US Army and was proud of his service to his country. David moved to Western Grove over 20 years from Louisiana.
When David moved to Western Grove, he began attending Amazing Grace Missionary Baptist Church. He was always prepared to spread the Gospel of the Lord. He loved his Lord and Savior and was always helping others. He served as their Pastor and loved this church and his brothers and sisters in Christ.
David loved his mowing and car racing and restoring TV shows. He loved his grandbabies and all his adopted children. He adored his loving wife, and he passed away just a few weeks shy of their 25th anniversary. David never met a stranger. He was a special man of God and will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Louise Powe; brothers, Norman Powe and Larry Powe; daughter, Hope Powe; son, Trevor Powe; father and mother-in-law, Alton Ray and Darlene Breland; brother-in-law, Allen Ray Breland; and sister-in-law, Jane Marie Wells.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Bobbie Jean Powe; son, Glen Joseph "Hawk" Breland and daughter-in-law, Chelsea and son, David Powe, Jr.; stepson, Brandon Alex Breland; and grandchildren, Ariannah Breland, Aubree Breland, and Nyas Ray Breland; and close friends and family, Bro. Jim Hatfield and Sis. Beverly Hatfield, Jason and Lynn Doubwig, Shannan and Mary Morris, Rob and Charlotte Mularski, Kenny Powe, Cody and Kara Eastep, Debbie LaFollette, and Kelly and Cindy Evenson; and a host of other family and friends.
A celebration of life will be he held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 5 (2025) at Amazing Grace Missionary Baptist Church in Western Grove. Bro. Jim Hatfield will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers are Hawk Breland, Kelly Evenson, Cody Eastep, James Conner, Curtis Brundridge, and Derek Jones.
Arrangements and cremation under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.
