Danny A. New, 73 of Harrison, Arkansas was called home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2018.

He was born January 23, 1945 in Three Creeks, Arkansas. He was the son of John "Pete" New and Katie Lorene (Kennedy) New.

He graduated from Junction City High School in 1963. He served in the US Army for 6 years. He was a former officer of the El Dorado Police Force. He worked as a salesman for Oxford Chemical and was a great salesman. He even won salesman of the year and was proud of this achievement. He later took up truck driving and retired after 20 years.

Danny was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and make people laugh. His excitement for life was contagious and he was always happy. He enjoyed listening to Elvis, Conway Twitty and watching music on YouTube. He was an avid animal lover and loved his dog "Buddy".

He loved to go camping and go on cruises with his "cruisin buddies", Facebook and keeping up with his friends, finding bargains at garage sales and looking through antiques. In his last years, he made peace with God, praying daily for his family, talking to God and spreading his love for God to others. He was looking forward to going home to be with the Lord and being reunited with his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jeryl New and sister-in-law, Betty Mellinger New.

Survivors include his wife, Celia Jo Shirey New of Harrison, AR; two daughters, Lori New Fay (Jim) of Harrison, AR and Amy New (Bobby) of Oneida, NY; his son, Mike New (Brenda) of Chambersburg, PA; two brothers, Elwynn New of El Dorado, AR and Gary New (Kay) of Magnolia, AR; a sister-in-law, Peggy New of Three Creeks, AR; four grandsons, Joel Fay (Amber), Matt Fay (Kim), Tyler New and Daniel New; seven great grandkids, Jesse, Mattison, Jackson, Jase, Mason, Ava and one arriving in October.

Funeral will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison. Burial will follow at White Church Cemetery in the Gaither Community. Following the services, family and friends will meet at Danny's home for fellowship.

Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
