August 4, 1930 – June 14, 2019
William Dalph Martin, of Hasty, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the age of 88.
He was the son of James Frank and Stella V. (Graham) Martin. Dalph was born August 4, 1930 at Watts, Arkansas in Searcy County. He lived most of his life in Newton County and was a 1950 graduate of Mount Judea School.
He was a farmer and had worked as a route delivery salesman for years, including 16 years at Pepsi. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was of Pentecostal Faith and attended many local churches. Dalph loved the Lord and he loved to read and study his Bible. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He treasured his family and loved his grandbabies. He was hardworking and content with his life and thankful for what he had.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Dortha (McGowan) Martin in 2005, his parents, two sisters, Bernice Earwood and Imogene Davis; two brothers, Kenneth Martin and John Martin; an infant sister and a great granddaughter, Emma Grace.
Dalph is survived by his children, Larry Martin and wife Pat of Omaha and Karen Greenhaw and husband Dale of Hasty; two sisters-in-law, Vinita Martin of Couch, MO and Ardith Martin of Western Grove; four grandchildren, Todd Martin, Amy Marshall and husband Tim, Judy Cape and husband Lewis and Tracy Grinder and husband Matthew; six great grandchildren, Jordan, Chloe, Hudson and Ava Cape and Ross and Caleb Grinder and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who loved him and will miss him.
Services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 17, 2019 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Pastor Derwin Martin and Pastor Arvin Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Hasty Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4PM at Coffman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Nephews and Grandson's-in-law. Honorary pallbearers are the Nurses and Staff of Newton County Nursing Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
