Obituary

Olen Dale Adamson, 86 of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 at Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.

The son of Johnnie and Bertha (Moreland) Adamson was born December 2, 1932 at Mansfield, Missouri.  He was a resident of Harrison for 35 years, moving from Missouri.

Dale was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War.  While enlisted in the service, he worked as an engineer and received a National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal.  He was honorable discharged in February 1955 at the rank of Corporal.

He was a Master Mason and a Perpetual Member of the Bellefonte, Arkansas Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and worked as a farmer.  He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Joe, James and Loyd Tabor and a daughter, Patsy Tabor and five brothers, Howard, Harold, William, Burnis and Lee Adamson.

Dale is survived by his wife of 35 years, Audry Adamson of Harrison; three sons, Paul Adamson and wife Jennifer of Harrison, Pete Adamson and wife Janet of Fort Smith and Mike Tabor of Lebanon, MO; two daughters, Beverly Francis and husband Bill of Springfield, MO and Brenda Appling and husband Greg of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; a brother, Kenneth Adamson of Mansfield, MO; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Graveside service with Masonic Funeral Rites and Military Honors will be held at Maplewood Cemetery at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 20, 2019 with Jerry Scogins presiding.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Coffman Funeral Home from 10-11AM on Thursday.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Scaggs, Jac Ake, Cleyton Ake, Sean Stewart, Dakota Adamson and Paul Adamson.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coffman Funeral Home to help defray funeral expense.
