Cupa Matlock, age 87 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper, Arkansas.
The daughter of Zachariah and Ada Zona (Merchant) Langford was born February 29, 1924 in Harrison.
She was a member of Grubb Springs Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and her church.
She was a very loving mother and grandmother.
Her parents preceded her in death, along with a sister, Mima Ruth Lutz; a brother, George Langford; and her mother and father-in-law, Walter and Bertie Matlock.
Survivors are her husband, Jesse S. Matlock; her children, Faye Savage and husband Johnny of Harrison, Richard Matlock of Jasper, Sherry Gregory of Harrison, and Jessie Hancock of Harrison; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation was Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Service was Monday, February 28, 2011 at New Hope Baptist Church in Omaha with Rev. Freddie Blevins officiating.
Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery with Cupa's grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Newton County Nursing Home, Dr. Tom Leslie, Dr. John Leslie, and Dr. Jimmy Justice.
