Cortney Michelle Hames, age 15 of Harrison, passed away March 1, 2007 at the Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock. The daughter of Allen Hames and Jeannie (Keeter) Hames, was born July 7, 1991 at Harrison. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Western Grove, where she was a very active member of the youth group. Cortney was also a 10th grade student at Valley Springs High School.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 4th from 1-4 PM at Coffman Funeral Home. Service will be Monday, March 5th, 3:30 PM at Valley Springs School. Burial is in Bellefonte Cemetery. Jack Searcy will officiate, other speakers will be Kelly Evenson and Charles Trammell.
Pallbearers will be: Allen Hames, Joshua Hames, Steve Clarke, Justin Keeter, Ryan Keeter, Connie Hames, Mark Zinser, and Dr. Geoffrey Dunaway. Honorary pallbearers are, Jeff "Buddy" Keeter, Brian Mortier, Damain, Michael and Austin Bidgood, Kary Hames, Western Grove lst Baptist youth group, students and staff at Valley Springs High School.
She was preceded in death by her great grandfather, Wayne Hames.
Survivors include her parents, Allen Hames and Jeannie (Keeter) Hames of Harrison; two sisters, Jerian Clarke and husband, Steve of Forsythe, MO, Megan Hames of Harrison; one brother, Joshua and wife, Kesha Hames of Little Rock Air Force Base, Jacksonville, AR; one nephew, Matthew Clarke; paternal grandparent, Ann Hames of Center Ridge, AR; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Peggy Keeter of Harrison; great grandfather, Luther Keeter of Harrison; great grandmother, Jeanne Rush of Jasper; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial fund for Cortney has been set up at First National Bank, of Green Forest.
