Colleen Haynes Rongey, 89, a long time resident of River Ridge, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017. She was born February 5, 1928 to the late Errol and Iva Woodward Haynes in Lurton, Arkansas. She graduated from Deer High School in Newton County, Arkansas.
On October 15, 1949, Colleen married Paul Lafate Rongey from Searcy, Arkansas. In 1957, Paul and Colleen began their life in River Ridge where Colleen was a business owner of Colleen's Arts and Frames for over 30 years. Colleen was a long time member of Riverside Church in River Ridge.
Colleen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Paul Rongey; her parents, Errol and Iva Haynes; two sisters, Patsy Haynes Coonts and Phyllis Haynes Dennis.
She is survived by four sons, Michael (Ann), John (Kathy), Robert (Judy) and Scott Rongey (Teresa); her sister, Carrol Haynes Heffley and her brother, Errol "Bud" Haynes. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua (Kalee), Jacob (Morgan), Jessica, Matthew (Meredith), Michael (Katie), Adam and Benjamin Rongey (Yvonne) and her 7 great grandchildren, Cameron, Cooper, Olivia, Kendall, William, Juliette and Edward Rongey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Lurton Assembly of God Church in Lurton, Arkansas on Thursday, April 13, 2017 with Pastor Stan Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. before the service at Lurton Assembly of God Church. She will be laid to rest at Tarlton Cemetery in Lurton, Arkansas.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Riverside Church in River Ridge, Louisiana on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at 12 p.m.
