Obituary

Claud E. Lewis, age 89 of Everton, Arkansas passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at his home.

The son of Francis Marion and Minnie (Sullivan) Lewis was born May 8, 1925 in Bruno, Arkansas.

Claud was a WWII Army veteran. He was a farmer, logger and was an avid coon hunter. He loved his dog, Toby dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gladys Powers, Rachel Foster, Cynthia Carter, and Virginelle McDonald; brothers, Virgil Lewis, Garland Lewis, Johnny Lee Lewis, and Jewel Hickman; son, Kenneth "Mouse" Lewis, sons-in-law, Dean McAfee and Melvin Sims; daughters-in-law, Billie Joe Lewis and Sharon Lewis; grandson, Scott Lewis; and great-granddaughter, Kayden McAfee.

Survivors his are wife of 68 years, Retha Lewis of the Hillcrest Home; children, Julie Sims of the home, Judy McCutcheon (Randy) of Richland, Reta McAfee (David) of Pindall, Brenda Oliver (Jerry) of Alpena, Sharon Brown (Devon) of St. Joe, Ray Lewis (Sue) of Harmon, Ernest Lewis, and Earl Lewis (Lena), Dale Lewis (Betty), Chester Lewis (Dana), and David Lewis (Nina Mae) all of St. Joe; brother, James "Clifton" Lewis of Kansas; 27 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Claud will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home.

Service was Monday, October 20, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home with Dennis Sisco and Chris Wyatt officiating.

Burial followed in Western Grove Cemetery with pallbearers being grandsons, Brandon McAfee, Shannon McAfee, Eldon McAfee and Joshua McCutcheon and great-grandsons, Remington McAfee, Donnie Hale, Landen Walker, and Dominic McAfee.

Honorary pallbearers were great-grandsons, Riley, Tony, Levi, and Jacob McAfee and Lang Holland, Jr., David Willis, Randy McCutcheon, Ralph Mills, G.W. Martin, the Arkansas Department of Health Area 10 Hospice including granddaughter, Cassie Walker, Jennifer Brooks, and the staff of Searcy County Home Health.
