IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christina
Haley
March 15, 1954 – February 19, 2025
Christina Mae Haley, age 70, of Harrison, Arkansas, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
The daughter of Jerald Arnold Hurless and Darlene Mae (Strouse) Hurless was born March 15, 1954 in Hastings, Michigan.
Christina was a 1972 graduate of Hastings High School. She attended one year at Bible Missionary Institute in Rock Island, Illinois, where she earned her "Mrs" degree. It was while she attended the institute that she met and married the love of her life, Odom Thomas Haley. Shortly after they married, they made Wichita Falls, TX home while Odom was teaching school. They also spent several years in Detroit, Michigan and Homedale, Idaho. They spent 4 years in Harrison from 1981-1985 and returned to Harrison permanently in October 1990. Even though she wasn't born here, she always considered Harrison her home.
She was a hard worker and not one to be idle. She never did anything halfway. She worked as a babysitter, doing alterations and sewing, as well as working at the Christian School. For 30 years, she cleaned homes and retired in 2024.
Christina was a faithful, longtime member of Bible Missionary Church. She loved to play the piano in church, be involved in children's ministry, monthly writing of letters and cards to encourage missionaries, cleaning and seasonal decorating.
God was always first in her life. She loved and adored her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved shopping year-round for their Christmas gifts. Christina enjoyed needlepoint and sewing. She loved to host and serve Sunday dinners at her home. She loved to be surrounded by her family and friends, and she enjoyed her house being full of people. She loved people and would do anything for them.
Her boisterous dedication to her approach to daily life has influenced and molded her children and grandchildren. Within her family, her work ethic was respected and contagious. Her God-fearing faith, and industrious, loving nature will be remembered for generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Andrew Thomas Haley; and an infant grandson, Matthew Russell Haley.
Christina is survived by her husband of 50 years, Odom Haley; her four children, Heidi McClean, Matthew Haley (Sheila), Joseph Haley (Jessica), and Holly Totten (Sam); three siblings, Dennis Hurless (Diane), Cindy McManaway, and Daniel (Joleta) Hurless; brother-in-law, Steve Haley; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many dear friends.
Visitation will be Monday, February 24 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Coffman Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be at 11 AM, Tuesday, February 25 at Coffman Funeral Home with Rev. J. Paul Dodd, Rev. Jim Roberts, and Rev. Ross Maxey officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her Grandsons: David Potts, Andrew Potts, Caleb Potts, Brendon Totten, Devan Totten, Weston Totten, Elisha Haley, and Micah Haley.
Memorial donations can be made to Bible Missionary Church, Hiroshima Mission Fund, 618 W. Nicholson Ave, Harrison, AR 72601.
