Cheryl "Sherry" Gourley Meyer, 79, of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025 at Barathaven Memory Care, Dardenne Prairie, Missouri.
Sherry was born in Los Angeles, California on July 8, 1945, the daughter of the late Paul & Gayle (Sellers) Hamlett.
She was the widow of John H. Meyer. They were united in marriage on April 26, 1997, in Columbia, Missouri.
Sherry was a stay-at-home mom while raising her children. After they were grown, she went back to school and graduated from Florissant Valley St. Louis Community College May 18, 1991. She received a AAS Degree in Commercial Art/Advertising Design. She was on the Dean's List for four semesters graduating with an accumulative GPA 3.96 on a 4.0 scale. She loved to paint/draw landscapes and animals. She also did a beautiful job with drawing the historical buildings and scenery of Hermann, MO where she lived for many years and many beautiful landscapes of the mountains of Jasper, AR where she lived for 20 years. She was also a devout Christian and always loved to share the love she had for Jesus.
Sherry is survived by a son, Terry Gourley (Laurie), of Simi Valley, California; a son, Todd Gourley (Sherilyn), of Fort Collins, Colorado; a daughter, Jennifer Gourley (Brad), of Hermann, Missouri; a son, Jeff Meyer (Jennifer), of Virginia; a daughter, Julie Meyer, of Holts Summit, Missouri; a daughter, Michelle Wilson (Dave), of Holts Summit, Missouri; a son, Marc Meyer (Rhonda), of Overland Park, Kansas; two sisters, Cathy Cooper, of Columbia, Missouri; and Debbie Alexander, of Mexico, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 28th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, 1221 Washington Street, Hermann, MO, where funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Graveside service will be at Tarlton Cemetery, Lurton, Arkansas on Saturday, February 1 (2025) at 3 PM with Rev. Stan Taylor officiating. Burial is under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison and Jasper.
Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
