Charles T. Sherman, Jr., age 87 of Yellville, AR, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, AR.
The son of Charles T. Sherman, Sr. and Bessie (Wirick) Sherman, was born January 31, 1921 in Boyne City, MI.
Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served as a Captain during WWII. He moved to this area from Lansing, MI in 1978, after retiring from General Motors, Oldsmobile Division.
He was a graduate of Michigan State University, a Boy Scout and Eagle Scout Leader, a member of Dimondale Lodge 449, a member of Arkansas Road Runners camping club, and a member of Swinging Diamonds Square Dance Club. He was also a member of United Methodist Church in Diamond City and had a great interest in Christian Missions.
He wishes to be remembered as a honest, kind, loving, and thoughtful husband and father.
He loved the outdoors and living on Bull Shoals Lake and he was very fond of his two pet cats.
His parents preceded him in death, along with a sister.
Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Lois Beryl Sherman, of the home; and a son, Bob Sherman and his wife, Debbie, of White Lake, MI; and many generations of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were Thursday, March 6th, 2008 at United Methodist Church in Diamond City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Diamond City Methodist Church, PO Box 1440, Diamond City, AR 72630.
The cremated remains will be interred at a later date in Lansing, MI.
