Charles Lewis Laffoon, age 73, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Saturday June 7, 2014 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison.
He was born on November 16, 1940, in Everton, Arkansas, the son of John and Gladys (Waltman) Laffoon. Charles grew up in Harrison and lived in or near Harrison all of his life.
Charles and his wife, Lylia owned and operated Bomba's Fruit and Vegetable Market on Highway 65 south of Bellefonte for several years. Prior to that he worked in sales for many years. He was a member of Harrison Moose Lodge #2208. As a young man, he served in the Arkansas National Guard and the Civil Air Patrol.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charles is survived by his wife of 22 years, Lylia; two sons, John Aaron Laffoon of Indianapolis, Indiana and David Shower of Harrison; two daughters, Dorothy Wilson and husband Bill and Debbie Youngblood and husband Gene, all of Harrison; two brothers, Kenneth Laffoon of Stover, Missouri and Jerry Laffoon and his wife Ann of Sedalia, Missouri; one sister, Mary Pumphrey of Springfield, Missouri; one aunt, Elsie Tabor of Pyatt, Arkansas; six granddaughters, six grandsons, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison. Visitation was prior to the service. Burial followed in Bellefonte Cemetery.
