Obituary

Charles J. Collins, age 90 of Western Grove, Arkansas passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Hillcrest Nursing Home with his loving family at his side.

The son of Charlie and Mary (Day) Collins was born June 24, 1925 in Murray, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Zilphia, two sons, Lee Roy Collins and Charles Steve "Tootie" Collins, a daughter, Rita F. Robinson, a grandson, Randy Lee Roy Collins and great grandson, Cody Hall; and a son-in-law, Glen Smith, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Charles and Zilphia (Henson) Collins were married on August 15, 1942 at Cave Creek, Arkansas, and he was a member of Hasty Holiness Church. He lived to serve God and provide for his wife of 72 years and their 6 children. He was a very hard working man who was proud of working in the timber and sawmills, where he retired. He worked just as hard at home, farming and gardening. He came out of retirement to work at the Western Grove School for several years and retire again at 82, but his work wasn't done. After retirement, he cared for his wife and best friend until she went to Heaven on October 6, 2014.

Charles is survived by his son, Harold Collins and wife Debbie, of Western Grove, AR; two daughters, Vivian Smith of Vendor, AR and Laverne Garner and husband Glen of Hasty, AR; two brothers, Ed Collins and wife Donna of Wisconsin and Joe K. Collins and wife Joyce of Bellefonte, AR; a son-in-law, Rex Robinson of Hasty, AR; two daughters-in-law, Sue Collins of Bellefonte, AR and Joy Collins of Piercetown, AR; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 24 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Services will be Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Hasty Holiness Church with Bro. Jimmy Greenhaw officiating. Burial will be at Sand Hill Cemetery at Yardell, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be his Great Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are his Grandsons and Granddaughters, and James Johnson, Kenny Hendrix and the staff of Hillcrest Nursing Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

His family, friends and neighbors will miss the wisdom that he offered and the stories that he loved sharing. Rest in peace, until we meet again in Heaven.
