Charlene McEntire, of Western Grove, Arkansas, passed away in Little Rock, Arkansas on Monday, January 31, 2022. She was 79.
The daughter of Charlie and Wauneace (McCutcheon) Phillips was born March 23, 1942 in Marshall, Arkansas. She was a resident of Searcy and Newton Counties most of her life and was a member of Ozark Life United Pentecostal Church.
Charlene worked hard her whole life, from Levi's, to housecleaning and childcare. The job she was most passionate about was caring for individuals with developmental disabilities at Boone County Independent Living for 15 years.
She was soft spoken and had a sweet loving spirit. She was very giving and loved her family and grandchildren tremendously. Charlene enjoyed latch hook, cooking for her family, word puzzles, camping and fishing. She also loved deer hunting, gardening and canning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, David Lee McEntire, grandson, Terry Dale McEntire; twin infant great granddaughters, Avery and Melissa and a sister-in-law, Esther Phillips.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Doyle McEntire; her children, Dale Eugene McEntire, Michael (Rita) McEntire, Shelly (James) Lockhart and Stephen (Shannon) McEntire; a daughter-in-law, Danita McEntire; three brothers, James Phillips, Jake Phillips and Herbert Phillips; five sisters, Charlotte Ragland, Sue Snow, Sheila Threet, Wanda Goett and Anna Little; five grandchildren, Amy, Trista, Brandon, Serenity and Brentley; seven great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Bennie McEntire and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Ozark Life United Pentecostal Church in Pindall with Bro. Darvin Rainbolt, Bro. Jeremy Ellis and Bro. Robert Little officiating. Burial will follow at Western Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 PM – 7 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Pallbearers are Mark Price, Daniel Smith, Robert Little, Stephen McEntire, Michael McEntire and Les Thurman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Boone County Independent Living, 206 S Cherry, Suite D, Harrison, AR, 72601.
