Cecil Wayne Mounce, age 53 of Harrison, went to his heavenly home on May 15, 2007. He was born In Harrison on October 20, 1953, the son of Marion Frank and Louella Joan (McElroy) Mounce. Cecil was a 1972 graduate of Bergman High School and a proud Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a lifetime resident of this area, and a member of the Ozark Baptist Church. He was a mechanic and a carpenter. He was also known as a "jack of all trades". His family was a very important part of his life and his hobbies were fishing, golfing, bowling and playing basketball. One thing that made him the happiest was to hear his daughter sing. Cecil was a person that everyone loved and had a kind heart by helping anyone in need, no matter what sacrifices he had to make.
His parents preceded him in death along with grandparents, and uncles, Travis McElroy and James McElroy.
Surviving is his wife of 28 years, Debbie Mounce of the home along with daughter, Anna Marie Mounce Sullivan and her husband, Dustin of Cabot; sisters and brothers, Charlotte Robertson, Winifred Dawn Keeter and Nathan Mounce all of Harrison, and Billy Mounce and Tammy Criner, both of Mtn. Home. He is also survived by numerous other family and friends whom he loved.
Visitation was at Coffman Funeral Home Friday, with service Saturday, May 19 at Ozark Baptist Church in Bergman. Pastor George Smith officiated.
Pallbearers were Nicholas, Charles, and Michael Robertson, Chris Mounce, Zack Massengale, Joe Alexander, Kevin Plumley and Derrick Evans. Honorary pallbearers were Rick Baker, Gary Keeter, Riley McElroy, Richard Logan, Mike Evans, Bruce Crow, Jimmy (Dot) Dotson, Ron Youngblood, Dean Stewart, and other close friends and family, too numerous to mention.
