Obituary

Carrie June Gibbons, age 71 of Western Grove, Arkansas passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Bristol Pointe Health & Rehab in Harrison, Arkansas.

The daughter of Arch and Bonnie (Teague) Merritt was born September 6, 1941 in Johnson, Arkansas.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Newton County Baptist Church. She was the leader of AWANA for 11 years and had been a Sunday School teacher of 20 years. She loved the Lord and her church family. She also loved fishing and being with people. She frequently shopped and visited with local merchants.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Archie Sappenfield and Marvin "David" Sappenfield; and three brothers

Survivors are her son, Robert Glen Sappenfield of Harrison, Arkansas; daughters, Debbie Breedlove and husband Troy of Valley Springs, Arkansas and Teresa Husser and husband Brandon of Omaha, Arkansas; daughters-in-law, Stacy Sappenfield of Harrison, Arkansas and Janet Sappenfield of Valley Springs, Arkansas; sister, Jeanette Lowery of Western Grove, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Service was Monday, January 14, 2013 at Newton County Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Stromlund officiating.

Pallbearers was family members. Honorary pallbearers included Roger Breedlove, David Dillon, James Taylor Spears, Michael Breedlove, Dave Mecke, Mike Coolidge, C.L. Patton, Dr. Charles Klepper, Dr. Blake Chitsey, Dr. Ronald Revard and members of the Newton County Baptist Church.

Burial followed in Carver Cemetery at Hasty, Arkansas.
