Carolyn Young, age 77 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Hospice of the Hills Hospice House in Harrison after a lengthy battle with cancer. Although she lost that battle, she claimed the ultimate victory that belongs to those who are children of God.

The daughter of Lee and Viola (Kennedy) Mysinger was born April 22, 1933 in Harrison.

Carolyn was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Greason and Becky Wilson.

She was an active member of Bellefonte Church of Christ.

Survivors are her loving husband of 55 years, Robert "Connie" Young of the home; two daughters, Lorri Ritchie and husband, Peter of London, England and Renee Miller and husband, Brian of Searcy, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Olivia Ritchie, Darby Miller, and McKenzie Miller; four sisters, Eva Nell Spano of West Covina, California, and Nina Massengale, Diana Jones, and Judy Raulston, all of Harrison; one brother, Jim Mysinger of Harrison; and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn loved taking care of her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She also cherished the time spent with her friends, whether it was a trip to Branson or an evening of dominoes. She also enjoyed her antiques, taking care of her beautiful flowers, and listening to the chiming of her clocks.

Visitation 5:30-7:30 P.M. Friday, November 19, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

Funeral service was Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Bellefonte Church of Christ. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery with pallbearers being Jim Dudley, Rex Brazell, Aaron Horis, Doyle Massengale, Peter Ritchie, and Brian Miller.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Deaton, Buddy West, Ronnie Robison, Garland Brasel, Don Fullerton, Roy Brasel, and Gene Crawford.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Hospice of the Hills, P.O. Box 1927, Harrison, Arkansas or to the American Cancer Society, 901 N. University, Little Rock, Arkansas 72207.
