Carol May Lane, 89 of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at Harrison Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by her family.

The daughter of Oscar and Marian (Springsteen) Balcom was born at Zillah, Washington on May 12, 1930.

Mom drove a school bus for Oceanside and Carlsbad in California.  After 5 years of driving children back and forth to school, she went to work for North County Transit City Bus, driving Marines back and forth to Camp Pendleton until she retired.

Mom retired after the death of her husband to Harrison, Arkansas in 1993, where she loved the Ozarks and made many wonderful friends.  She was a very loving and giving person, giving to many local charities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Lane, her parents, Oscar and Marian Balcom, her brother, Lloyd Balcom and sister, Lois B. Persson.

She is survived by her children, William (Lanny) and Delores Robertson of Branson, Missouri, Stacy L. Sampson of Springfield, Missouri, David L. Sampson of Harrison, Arkansas, Jean Sampson-Queer and Ron of Harrison, Arkansas and Sandra Lane-Knox of El Reno, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and many friends who loved her and will miss her.
