Carmen R. Hensley, age 68, of Alpena, South Dakota, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at the Sunquest Health Care Center. His funeral service will be Saturday, October 3rd at 2 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home at Harrison Arkansas, with Rev. Carroll Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to funeral service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Keesee Cemetery at Lead Hill, Arkansas. Local arrangements are under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home.
Carmen R. Hensley was born April 27, 1941, to Leonard and Delpha (Markle) Hensley at Flag, Arkansas. Carmen grew up in Arkansas and worked for Cloud Corporation, a flooring mill.
On September 22, 1989, Carmen married Martha (Oestrich) Moody at Pyatt, Arkansas. In 2000, Carmen and Martha moved to Alpena, South Dakota to be closer to Martha's family.
Carmen enjoyed fishing and hunting in his free time.
Carmen was preceded in death by his father, Leonard and his first wife, Janice Hensley.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Martha Hensley of Alpena; his two sons, Carl and his wife, Wilma Hensley and David Hensley all of Harrison, Arkansas; three step-children, Wayne and his wife, Francis Moody of Leslie, Arkansas, Lemen and his wife, Samantha Moody of Pineville, Arkansas, and Rowlinda Allen of Calico, Arkansas; one granddaugther, Kristina Hensley of Harrison, Arkansas; step grandchildren, Chelsea, Dwana, Derrick and Christopher; his mother, Delpha Hensley of Harrison, Arkansas; and one sister, Cleta and her husband, Keith Williams of Harrison, Arkansas.
