Carl E. Young, age 74 of Harrison, AR passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.
The son of Everett S. and Emma (Turner) Young, was born October 18, 1932 in Grant, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Carl had lived in this area since 1991, having moved from Pineville, LA. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Harrison and had retired as a Major from the United States Air Force, having served in the Vietnam Conflict. While in the service he received many medals and honors. He was a graduate of the University of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette, LA. He enjoyed fishing with his friend, Leo Walton, flying, riding motorcycles, and gardening.
Survivors are his wife, Pat (Whitmire) Young of the home; children, Karen and her husband, Isaias Arriaga, of Memphis, TN, David Young and his wife, Ginger of Belton, TX, and Deborah and her husband, Scott Perry of Dublin, CA; brothers, Roy Young of Abbeyville, LA and Earl Young of Murfreesboro, TN; and grandchildren, Marisa White, Sylvia Arriaga, Paul Young, Stacey Lopez, and Emily Perry.
Visitation was Tuesday, January 9, the service was at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Rev. Rob Davis and Rev. Robert Shaddox officiating. Graveside service was Wednesday, January 10 at Hamilton Cemetery in Grant, LA. Honorary pallbearers were Warren Englehardt, Leo Walton, Joe Lennon, Bill Sartin, Harland Pollock, Nate Dayton, Terry Brewer, and Wayne Gidden.
