Calvin was of Pentecostal faith and worshipped at Piercetown Holiness Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Brotherhood. He was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on January 28, 1961, in Yardelle Lodge #457. After the closing of Yardelle Lodge, he became a member of the St. Joe Lodge #317. In 2011, he received his 50-year pin.
Calvin is survived by his wife, Judy Ann (Covey) Bolin. He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa (Michael) Cross of Vendor; and Doris Korba, of Harrison, and two sons: Jimmy (Rena) Bolin, of Piercetown; and Robert Bolin of Berryville. He is also survived by his sister, Katherin Spears of Everton.

Calvin is also survived by countless nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved so dearly.
Calvin is preceded in death by 5 sisters: Pauline (Clay) Flud, Nova Linness Bower, Ova Gale (Junior) Bruce, Claudia Donley, Lovedia (James) Smith, and his brother, Delmar (Norma Jean) Bolin. Additionally, he is met by his grandson, Ryan Reddell, and infant grandson, Christopher John Reddell. He is also preceded by his niece and nephew, Lois and Curtis Donley.
Calvin lived a long, full life. He did everything that he had wanted. He spent 61 years of his life with his loving wife, Judy. They lived in Newton County for the last 40 years, and prior to that had resided in Kansas City (MO and KS). Calvin worked his whole life.
Calvin worked in the log woods of the country and the potato fields of the West Coast with his family when he was young. He drove big rigs across the country for 10 years, and for a brief stint, he captained a barge and operated heavy machinery on the barge. Calvin was a specialized construction worker, operating heavy machinery for John Curtis (Enterprises).
Through and through, Calvin was an outdoorsman. For 26 consecutive years, he traveled to Colorado to elk hunt, and each year he returned with an elk. He enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting. He also enjoyed camping. When he was young, he enjoyed racing. His passion in life, though, was fishing. To say that he enjoyed fishing and spending time on his boat would have been a complete understatement.
